Meet the Candidates - Nelson
What do our Nelson candidates think about housing, inequality and other issues that affect us directly in our work in the community sector?
For many years in Nelson CAN (Community Action Network) has offered election forums (national & local) with a focus on community sector issues. This forum was postponed due to Covid 19 and is now back!
We invite you to come along to the September meeting of Community & Whanau for a lively session with local candidates Nick Smith (National), Rachel Boyack (Labour), Aaron Stallard (Green) and Matthew Pottinger (TOP).
The panel will be chaired by Mary Ellen O’Connor. Each candidate will have two minutes to speak on their understanding of the issues facing the sector, and we will then take questions from the floor. Have a think about what you’d like to ask around the topics of health services (particularly mental health), housing affordability, growing inequality and poverty.
There will be an opportunity for you to chat informally to the candidates over a Free Lunch provided by CAN. Koha please.
