Information we need
Often when we are trying to work out the effects of some change we run into "Commercially Confidential" information/data Sometimes this information/data is important for commercial reasons more often this is used as a smokescreen We need the equivalent of a Compulsory Purchase Order to enable the government or it's agencies (Like PHARMAC) to purchase this information/data A court or some form of independent assessor would need to calculate the value - and the "cost" to the company of making it public PHARMAC would be one of the first beneficiaries of this as they would then be able to get the drug companies to divulge all of the results of test trials - not just the good ones
