Longitudinal Careers Advice

Longitudinal Careers Advice

Transform careers advice given to children so that information follows them throughout their education and most importantly beyond schooling, until say age 25. Case files could be built up and used like medical records are to provide better advice. Particularly important is that the relationship continues into the workplace so that data can be collected about student outcomes, so that this data can be used to constantly improve the service. In the current turbulent jobs climate this would be a great advantage.

I don’t think it’s a great idea for people to continually tell you what you should do because your results point to a particular job.

Really in my life i had a fill of people telling me what i was suited for. This would only lead to the next advisor telling you what the last advisor was enforcing on you. It wont be a record of the changing desires of the individual .. it will be a organised pigeonholing of youth.. it just brings nightmares to mind of how this would be abused.
