We don’t need more prisons – we need to do what Norway does and spend a
LOT
more ensuring that we reduce recidivism – its a lot cheaper in the long term

I agree.. on the based on recent history and news .. that makes it obvious performance and prisoner well being can not be monitored behind closed walls.

100% agree. The successful outcomes that society wants (lowest recidivism rate over the long term) is directly opposed to the short term profit motive of private prison operators. Essentially private prisons are for those governments that do not care about anything other than the lowest cost to store people. Overall, there’s a law and order theme and I believe that the overarching topic of law and order should be in the top 7.
